MIKE ZABKAR, U.S. JET SEARCH
J. Michael Zabkar, Jr. (Mike) is well established in the business aircraft industry with over 45 years’ experience in aircraft acquisition, sales, and consulting. Mike has managed acquisitions and sales on behalf of aircraft manufacturers, principals, and businesses as a broker/dealer for new and pre-owned business and commercial aircraft; aircraft appraisals for various lending institutions; along with general business aviation management and consulting. Mike began his career pursuing his passion of aviation, earning his commercial pilot license in 1966, subsequently joined the United States Air Force. After completing service with an honorable discharge, he became a Sales Representative for Page Airways (a forerunner to Signature), a regional Beech Aircraft Dealer/Distributor. In 1976 Mike accepted a position as Sales Director for Mitsubishi Aircraft International (MAI). In 1978 he was promoted to Regional Sales Manager for MAI with responsibility of turbo-prop and jet aircraft sales for a 20-state region, including 7 sales offices. In between his aviation endeavors, Mike was a co-founder of a food service operation and created a snack food business whose proceeds were used to support Children’s Cancer Research programs. He rejoined aircraft sales in 1995 as Regional Vice President of Prime Fleet, a used aircraft fractional sales, management, and charter organization. Mike joined Bombardier Aerospace in 1997 as a Sales Director for Pre-Owned Aircraft for Bombardier Canadair Challenger. In 1999 Mike was promoted to Vice President responsible for Pre-Owned Aircraft Sales globally. The new division combined Bombardier’s Pre-Owned Challenger Program (Hartford, CT) with the Pre-Owned Learjet Program (Tucson, AZ). The new headquarters relocated to Dallas, Texas, where Mike developed an international sales network for the pre-owned aircraft sales group. Through his aviation career Mike directly sold or managed aircraft sales exceeding $5 billion. He retired from Bombardier in January of 2007. After consulting for several longtime clients and friends, he formed an aircraft acquisition, sales and consulting firm, U.S. Jet Search, L.L.C. (USJS), in the summer of 2007. USJS has offices in Naples, FL, Dallas, TX and affiliate in Las Vegas, NV. U.S. Jet Search, L.L.C. is a member of the National Business Aviation Association (NBAA), and Global Licensed Aircraft Dealers Association (GLADA). Mike is a GLADA board member and chairs the Best Practices Committee.
